I have to say that I LOVED this book. I don’t usually gravitate to stories with a sports theme, but I’m going to have to rethink that. I loved the fact that it was current. References were made to things and people that you encounter in your everyday life. This pulls you into the story even more. The dialogue was believable. It made me laugh at times.
I recommend Running Back to You. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author.

Running Back to You The Running Series Book 1 edition by Suzanne Sweeney Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I absolutely loved this story. Best way to describe it is... SWOON-WORTHY! Suzanne Sweeney you did an amazing job with this one. I fell in love with Evan (and Juliette) right away. There was a little bit of everything in it romance, secrets, drama, a psycho stalker, suspense, some really fun sex scenes and awesome supporting characters. She could easily do spinoffs for any of them and I would jump to read it.
I definitely think everyone should read this!!!
It's a series but there is no cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next book.
3.5 stars - This book wasn't awful, it was just too cheesy for me by the female lead character, Jette. She was also a bit annoying at the trust issues by jumping to conclusions about Evan after promising she would come to him first before flying off the handle. There was also more filler content that described a little too much detail. Evan, the main male lead, was an amazing character so I'll give her that. There was a nice mystery twist to the plot that I figured out very early on wasn't who everyone thought it was 80% in to the book, but this part of the book I did enjoy because I didn't figure out the "who done it" until a chapter or so before it was revealed. Again, not a bad story, but it won't be on my read again list.
I really wanted to like this book. I love romance novels involving professional athletes as well as suspenseful stories. It is also set at the Jersey Shore which is my absolute favorite place in the entire world. However, certain things about this book made it very hard for me to enjoy it. I struggled mightily with the dialogue throughout the course of the story. Most of the time it felt as if teenagers were talking instead of college graduates, and the amount of angst and drama throughout the story made me roll my eyes more times then not. I did enjoy the overall concept of the story and the characters, but unfortunately there were several plot issues that just made no sense to me, and still bother me 12 hours after finishing the story. I can over look unnecessary angst and bad dialogue as long as the story makes sense, and there were to many times where I actually questioned things out loud that didn't make sense.
**may contain possible spoilers**
1. How did she graduate college in March? And why did they drive from Denver to Chicago to New Jersey? (Also, I did not know that Johnson & Wales has campus outside of Rhode Island, so I learned something new).
2. The earliest mentions of the stalker do not line up with the final outcome of the story. I feel like the plot line probably evolved throughout writing the story, but earlier vestiges of the plot line were either never edited out, or never fixed to make more sense with who the stalker turned out to be.
3. Through the alarm code they mention that Evan's birthday is 3-25, but its never mentioned again even through the story starts in probably mid March (guessing by the mentions of spring break, and because the earliest Easter can fall is 3/22).
4. I've never seen one bartender have so many issues with male customers and sexual harassment, and I bartend bachelor parties and at sporting events.
5. I didn't understand the logic behind why some real places/people were used, but others were created or changed. Both Peyton and Eli Manning are mentioned along with the Jets, Giants, Broncos, Knicks, Rangers, and Nets, but Evan plays for a made up team in an area already over saturated with professional sports teams. The Wonder Bar and the Stone Pony are mentioned by name, but the areas in Point Pleasant that are clearly modeled after various Jenkinson properties are given a different name. Emmy is a fictional character, but she plays for the Jersey Shore Roller Girls league, which is real. There's no rhyme or reason for what is made up and what isn't.
6. This is really nitpicky on my part, but I'm a huge Springsteen fan and this really stuck with me. When they go to see Tramps Like Us Jette says the band plays Rosalita, and then plays an older Springsteen song I Wanna Be With You. Rosalita was released in 1973, I Wanna Be With You was recorded seven years later in 1979 and is a River outtake. While it is an older song, it's not older than Rosalita, and that description annoys me.
This book was definately worth the read. It has an awesome storyline, strong characters. Although it does have a lot of sex. Its a really amazing story.
Juliette "Jette" Fletcher moves back to her hometown. Juliette learns alot throughout this first book. She overcomes many challenges. She is trying to make a life for herself after college.
Evan "Big Mac" McGuire is an NFL star. He lives by hisself. He is on the off season now. He overcomes alot as well in this book. He is tired of acting like a player so he is trying to reestablish his life. Along the lines he meets Juliette. They have this attraction to each other, that you wouldnt expect when you first meet someone. Evan is a true gentleman though. In every sense. They overcome Obstacles in his NFL life and her everyday life. Their is alot of jealousy on Jettes end of the relationship because Evan is gorgeous and he is a NFL Player. I mean what do you expects he is a ladies man. But its just a great read. Really good if your into romance books this one you will fall in love with.
